I would say its worth it just for the Cath Kidston store if your interested in that. When I visited I only went in there though so I can't comment on the other places. It was really busy though so I recommend going early or you wont get a parking space!

I've still never been to Bicester or Cheshire Oaks; I know people who have had some great bargains from both places. I've found some amazing bargains in TK Maxx, such as Maharishi trousers for £39.99 (the ones I got RRP £320 and saw them at that price in Selfridges), a Pucci bag for £89.99 (RRP £280ish) and Superfine jeans for £29.99 which sell for £160. I like these sorts of places for special treats I wouldn't normally be able to afford, and I mix these luxury pieces with my high street stuff.
  • Bumping as I'm thinking of visiting the bicester outlet village and would love to read more opinions!

The reason I'm thinking of going is a gucci outlet has recently opened there. I love gucci bags and really [STRIKE]want[/STRIKE] need a new bag and/or purse.

It's quite a long way for me - almost 4 hours drive but I might be able to hitch a lift with my bf who is a van driver and goes that way sometimes.

The thing that worries me is the only other outlet I have been to is cheshire oaks and I hate it - it's so messy I can't be bothered looking through everything and IMO it's mostly rubbish thats there anyway. Is Bicester less messy?

Anyone been to the gucci outlet?

I went to BV a month or so ago and although there are lots of designer shops I didn't think the prices were that cheap. Can pick up a lot of stuff from places online for the same price * think Levi's etc.

Personally found the Portsmouth one better value for money (Ralph Lauren, Levi's, Timberland stores were cheaper) and it was easier to park (although it was early morning).

One thing to note these outlets are nowhere near as good as the one's in the US for prices so if you're thinking along those lines be prepared to be disappointed.
  • Visited Bicester last month. DO NOT go on a Saturday/Sunday, parking is horrific. If you do go, get there before 12.00 on both days. The attendants just send you round and round. Don't even think of parking in Tescos (apparently it is parking for 3 hours, but they have been known to clamp people after 2 hours!).

IF you get a parking space, Rock Couture were quite good in the jeans department (if they have your size and style) £49.00 for Victoria Beckham jeans and Rock & Republic.

Tommy Hilfiger I was disgusted with, items they have in, which were in the Tommy stores in Dec/Jan/Feb, are more expensive (In the actual Tommy Store sale one shirt was £41, in the outlet it was £71!).

Ralph Lauren store, they seen to have for ladies more L or XL sizes and men, XL, or XXL sizes.

I live nearish to Cheshire Oaks, and the stock at Bicester is the same as what it is at Cheshire Oaks. My friend also said that the stock was similar to that what she has seen at Swindon.

She said about the parking, she thought it was horrific, and said people may moan about paying for parking at Swindon (I think she said it was £1 for 4 hours - don't quote me on that), but she would rather pay for the parking, than at Bicester.

    I've been Money Tipped!
There is a good Kipling store there as well
  • Hi,

I would agree with the above. The parking is AWFUL. IT is packed solid and you have to que for 25 mins to get a Coffee. There are a lot of designer outlets. However, I go approx 6 monthly for the Clarks and Kilping shops. Both have really good deals. Went on Saturday and got both my duaghters winter boots fitted in Clarks for £36. It would cost you this each in the store.

    Hope this helps

I have been to Bicester twice and never had a problem with parking or traffic. All the things that i brought where at least 50% off, jeans from monson, shoes from Timberland, accessories from Accesozire. The other shops i go in are the vans one and the quicksilver one. Got some great birthday presents from their reccently for a male friend.

Vans had disappeared last time I was there. Such a shame.
