Before you embark on yet another witch hunt...ask yourself this one simple question; "Why did the OP not bank the agreed loan repayments while the ADMIN error with the bank was resolved?"
Then he could simply apply the back dated repayments to his loan account then everybody is happy, but oh no, too much to ask "responsible borrowing" in this society isn't it?

    Another 'witch hunt'?

Again, I'm going by the OP's original comments ie. the bank told them not to whilst it was under investigation. I don't believe that that would be unheard of for a bank to take this stance as the account would be in dispute.

Just read this thread and it really annoys me to see the same old names posting the same old presumptuous, unhelpful B*!! S**t.

These are consumer help forums, if you have nothing to say that will help a consumer please resist the urge to type.

I wonder if these people attend their local Alcoholics anonymous to tell the people there that they just shouldn't have started drinking?

These forums are not for moral preaching, morals are only opinions, and what one person deems to me morally right is not necessarily what the next person sees as being morally right, so to enter into such debates is pointless.

Banks and other lenders have little regard for what is morally right, i.e bank charge reclaiming, the law appears to state that these charges are unlawful, the OFT think they are unfair, yet do the banks care about doing what is morally right? NO!! (that's just one example)

To the o.p, in this case if your lender has told you in writing not to pay until the issue is resolved i would just wait until they respond. In my experience, if they have made a C!!K up they will probably either offer some compromise, or sell the debt. But until something further happens it's hard to Advise, just hang fire then post back here once something more happens.

The OP is walking into this abuse due to the poor information in his posts.

You get out what you put in, that includes these forums.

I read the OP's first post the same way others have.....that he got the money but hasn't made any payments
I have a loan which is currently being disputed due to myself never being credit checked.......

I haven't been making any payments due to the investigation, .........

With a bit more information from the OP, it now appears as though he has had the loan for over 6 Months before any of this came to light.
Perhaps if he gave some detailed information he would get more helpful replies.
Perhaps people wouldn't have to fill in the blanks themselves.

I can't see as anyone is questioning the fact that no payments are currently being made, because the bank have told him not to.

The OP is saying he is reluctant to be held responsible to ever repay this loan.

Give him a cuddle if it helps but I keep my fingers crossed they sort the admin mess out and simply ask him to continue repaying the money he spent.

ok, these are consumer HELP forums, explain how your post is helpful?

When i post advise it is not always what i would do in the op's situation, or what i think they should do, but i am objective and post based on fact and legality. I don't think anyone asked for moral guideance..... correct me if i'm wrong.

My post is helpful in as much as it is informing the OP he should give more information if he wants accurate advice.

If you don't want moral guidance from anyone.... DON'T GIVE IT!

The problem with fora like this one for example is that most of the time threads are so biased; as soon as somebody post's a conflicting opinion or sparks a debate - they are thrown out with abuse!
look, take your heads out of the sand and start taking responsibility for your finances - be pro-active, if the bank has made a silly admin error then sort it, follow it through, if you have borrowed money then just pay it back, if the bank informs you to stop making payments until the admin error is resolved then save the payments that you should be making just in case - come on people, sort it out! ;)
Since when has the world of computer software design been about what people want? This is a simple question of evolution. The day is quickly coming when every knee will bow down to a silicon fist, and you will all beg your binary gods for mercy.

You can stick those little confused smileys right up your....:silenced:, the only reason the statements of mine that you quote appear to not make sense is because you have heavily edited them, and frankly that is a lame way to attempt to discredit someone.

    Note to Chr15...must try harder.....

I hate to disagree with you again, but I feel I have to.

People of course are entitled to debate a subject, it's what the world is built on. But there's a fine line between debate and talking down to others.

You say those who do are thrown out with abuse; I can't see where I've posted anything abusive on this thread.
