I tried this is the mobile phones forum, but had no replies so I'll try here
My OH recently purchased this
http://uk.samsungmobile.com/mobile-phones/SGH-J700
Switched it on earlier and it's come up with "Phone Lock" requesting a code, it's never happened before
I called Orange who tbh, were not much help, they suggested I send it back to the manufacturer
Anyone have any suggestions please?

I used to work for Orange - sometime Samsung phones come up with this. Basically with this phone you have the option to lock the SIM card to the phone, meaning that if someone nicked the phone and put another SIM in it would be pretty much useless. The default code that Samsung use (if memory serves correctly) is 00000000 (if this doesn't work try 12345678 or 0000). When you're back in you can change the phone lock code or disable the phone lock in the security settings. Let me know how you get on!0

Hi Chris
Thanks for the assistance, I tried 00000000 as suggested by the Orange rep, it never worked, I've just tried your suggestion 12345678 no good, followed by 0000 once again, no good
