anyone found a pink camera in cardiff last weekend? (long shot!)

Hi, I know I have little to no chance of any luck here but I was in Cardiff last weekend for a Hen Party and managed to lose my pink Samsung camera on the saturday night (25th/26th April)
It was only a couple of months old so that's annoying enough but the worst thing is losing all my pictures from the weekend... I had taken loads and some were really good (and others were very drunken and I am embarrassed at the thought of complete strangers looking at them!
)
We were in a nightclub on St Marys street, can't remember the name of it, but it wasn't far from the travelodge, if anyone found it I would pay a reward to get it back!
Also, does anyone know of a local cardiff paper that does "lost & found" ads, preferably for free?

Hi.
The local Cardiff newspapers are the South Wales Echo, and the Western Mail. In addition, the Cardiff Post is delivered free to most (all?) Cardiff homes. They're all run by Trinity Mirror and their online presence is here. It may be worth taking out an ad and offering a reward. If the camera was stolen, it's highly unlikely that it'll be returned free of charge, so if you really want the pictures then I'd have thought a reward would be your only chance! You could even say that you only really want the memory card back? The possible thief could then post it anonymously to the paper's headquarters.
Do you remember any more details about the club? Was it on the same side of the road as the Travelodge? The closest clubs/pubs (same side of the road) are Walkabout (underneath the hotel), Central Bar (on the corner towards the station), Life/Liquid, The Philharmonic, The Square, The Prince of Wales (on the corner towards the stadium/bus station.
It might be worth ringing as many places as possible to ask if your camera's been handed in (again, you might mention a reward). Perhaps call Cardiff Central Police station too, as lost property is handed in there too.
Hope you find it!0 -
thanks for the newspaper info, I'll give it a go, not holding my breath though.
The nightclub was on the same side of the road as the travelodge, we started out in flares, then went to a little cocktail place a couple of doors down, then into the nightclub, here's a couple of pics (faces blurred to protect the innocent/intoxicated!) definitely wasn't walkabout and I don't think it was Liquid, cos one of the girls said we tried to get in there afterwards but it was closed.
if anyone recognises it i'd appreciate it, i'll give them a ring, although we did stay till chucking out time and asked the bar staff and nothing had been handed inToilets were downstairs and there was a DJ box up a few stairs, quite a long bar, can't remember much more about it!

Sadly I don't recognise the bar from those pictures but it could be Edwards is on the same side as the travel lodge, toilets down stairs, dj booth upstairs and lots of stairs with a long bar so that could be worth a try!2010 Wins: Benecol Bag For Life, £150 FCUK Voucher, Rimmel Foundation, L'oreal Mascara, £60 worth of hair products, £100 :j0

I was thinking perhaps it was Edwards too, from the description, although it doesn't look like it from the decor. Mind you, it was a while ago since I last went there! The description also fits the Great Western (what used to be Central Bar - my mistake!) which is next door to the travelodge. Try googling some images and see if anything jogs your memory? Worth ringing there as well I'd have thought.0

Thanks for the suggestions
think it could be edwards, I've had a look online and though some of the photos look different, the layout is the same, so maybe they've had a refit.
It definitely wasn't the Great Western. All I know is we started in Flares 70's disco, and the club was somewhere between there and the travelodgeWiggly:heartpulsFB0 -
well phoned them but no luck... oh well. I've put an ad in the cardiff papers so if I get any good news I'll let you all know. Thanks for all the helpWiggly:heartpulsFB0

Had another thought too: a large proportion of weekend Cardiff revellers descend from the valleys, where the local paper is the South Wales Argus so perhaps posting an ad in that paper and/or on the online forums would be useful.
I get REALLY annoyed when people steal cameras. It's tantamount to stealing memories!0 -
could be the walkabout.0

That's Edwards as far as I can tell. Def not Walkabout or Great Western (Central Bar is off top end of Queen St, Great Western used to be called Bush Pig and before that The Old Monk).
You could also try Gumtree, I think they have a lost and found section.
I'm really sorry to hear you lost your camera on the hen night, hopefully someone (maybe who's bought the stolen camera) will see one of your ads, realise they've got it and send the memory card back. Good luck£2012 in 2012 - £13810
