Have a Pentax camera and a w350i mobile-cannot tranfer photos on either

Can someone help - PLEASE - before I turn into a raving luna tit.

I have been given a Pentax OPTIO 3.2 - I have been given the disc and the wire to go into the PC.

My son has given me his old phone :jit is a W350i Sony E.
I have the wire for that too.

I have taken a ton of photos on each one and can't for the life of me download/upload - whatever it's called.

It's driving me POTTY!!!

Any help would be gratefully received. :D

I have two Pentax Optio's, my latest is the A40. By wire, I take it you mean cable. It might help if you told us if you are on a PC or laptop and what system you are running.

BUT, close all programs so that your start-up screen showing the icons is on screen, then insert the cable into your camera and inset the other end into the USB port of whichever type of computer you are using.

Turn the camera on. Any up-to-date system ie Vista or any modern laptop should pick up the photo's without the need for the software on the disc. (Mine did and always has). As recognition takes place, a box should arrive on screen asking where you want the pics to go. (in my case I always select Picasa). The Picasa site arrives then I watch as each of the pics on the camera arrive. I select "Select all) and then when prompted select a title which you might call and type something like, " MAY'09".

When finished, it will say so. Then you disconnect the cable (wire) from the PC and camera, and remove from camera, otherwise the next you repeat the procedure, they will double up. Apart from that, leaving them on the camera reduces the amount you can hold.

This procedure is followed for the phone as well.

Most youngsters are more aware of procedures such as this than we could ever hope to be, so get him to watch over you whilst you carry out this procedure. I hope you post your success.

(We too watched it last night). My son always explains things too fast or does something on the comp too fast, so I know only too well what you mean. Assuming my explanation goes to plan and that he does it, try to repeat the process only write it out "your way",.

I have a book by the side of my laptop, and in it I write down any explanation given to me that I have made work. There are instructions on how to load music into my ipod, how to move photographs which arrive by email into my Picasa suite, a list of every website I have joined along with codes for the "user name" and "password", just in case I forget, details of Norton etc. It's surprising how much we are required to remember but are prone to forget.

for the phone just plug the data cable into the comp & phone, select file transfer on the phone's menu (that should pop up when you insert the data cable)

i think the photos are located in the MSSEMC\Photos folder on the memory card.
  • Got the Pentax camera up and runnning!!!!!:j

    Pictures are amazing!!!

    Many thanks.

I followed instructions and worked out that Firefox didn't like the camera so used Outlook E and it seemed to work.

Getting son to tackle the mobile phone - it doesn't seem to show a pop up when plugged in.

I am pleased. Now just make a note of the procedure until it becomes second nature. Actually you've remined me of something. When anyone sent me pics via email, Firefox proved to be a headache when transferring them, so one of my notes reminded me that to resolve it, was to open them in IE, so yes, I'm with you on that.

I'm sure that with a little time, you will have your phone pics as well. Keep us posted.
