I have an annual travel policy with the above company which expires on 23rd May and they have sent me a renewal letter inviting me to visit their website to get a quote and renew.However, when I went to the site, there is a message saying that Payplan Financial Services are no longer offering travel insurance through covermytravels. Can anyone shed any light on this as it makes me suspicious about renewing.

It probably means that your insurer have chosen not to use the brokers (covermytravels) not to sell their policies, or vice versa.

You are probably safe (as anyone can be) if they are auhorised or members of the FSA - see their register here and put in your insurance company.

FH Brit is correct in that you are safe with your policy. My organisation provided the policy to covermytravels (we are the underwriting agents) and they have made a business decision to not continue selling travel insurance. They have provided details of our helpline number on their website. We are now handling all enquiries regarding new and renewal policies.
