Asda Contents Insurance

Hi,

Has anybody been able to recently get an internet contents quote from Asda?

I was planning to purchase from them, but once I've entered my details on the first page and click 'Search' to resolve my postcode then it just comes up and says 'An error has occured' with not a lot of other information. I've tried a different computer here at home and other postcodes, but I can't get past that first page.

I first tried yesterday and then again today. I'd let Asda know about it (though they've probably got no-one there in their IT dept) except that I can't see an email account to send to, and their telephone number is an 0845 number and I don't see why I should pay to tell them they've got a problem.

I've also tried Buildings and Buildings&Contents but get the same problem.

I would ring up for a quote, but I want to claim cashback.

Thanks

  • Yes - I got an on line quote on Friday 1st May - wanted to check further so put on 'hold' but have not been able to retrieve this quote or obtain a new one via the website since.

Like you I would like the cashback by purchasing on line so am not ringing them for help at the moment.

Have a read of this recent post before you commiting yourself to the Asda Policy

  • Thanks for the advice 'dacouch'.

Have looked at the link and then checked my ASDA quote and that is through Fortis not ERS so still thinking of accepting (when their website starts to act normal).

As smart mart points out, Asda offer policies through various companies - when you get a quote, they offer a selection at various prices, it is up to the customer to choose which company to go with.

At long last it's now working.

    Also mine is Fortis too.
