Houses in need of renovation?

Hi All

Currently looking to buy another house but anything i want seems to be out of my price range, so I have come to the conclusion that maybe I need to buy something in a state of disrepair so that I can afford to buy it.

Are there any specialist sites that detail properties in need of modernisation / repair?

I think its the best way to either get onto or move up the housing ladder, after all you get it a lot cheaper than if you paid for someone else's tastes.

Hmmm maybe we should close the forums and just replace them with a message that says "USE GOOGLE"

im in same boat,if youv got the skills/contacts then it will work out cheaper, but if not,it might not as there normally lots of people looking for same thing but they might be prepared to pay more for the house if they can do it up themselvs...auctions are quite a good bet......romans / clive emmerson & what ever is local to u

If it has no kitchen they you will struggle to get a mortgage. And they will only give you money for the house as it is - so you need hard cash as a deposit and to do it up.

Buying a tired house is different from being one that needs gutting.
    Not always cheaper option either.
