Marbles took over the credit card company I was with. Their APR was higher than the other card, I tried to do a balance transfer online. This did not work so I rang Tesco credit card line. The transfer wouldn't go through because Marbles blocked it. Has anyone else had this problem

No experience personally, but the explanation you were given by Tesco sounds odd.

I doubt whether Marbles can distinguish BACS payments made by other card companies from those of their customers. What happens when you make a payment to your Marbles card?

Did Marbles issue you with a new card? The new card numbers aren't on the database that card companies use for balance transfers. If you have an old statement from before Marbles took over, this old account number should be accepted for the balance transfer.

:j thank you thank you for your suggestions. Telephoned Marbles explained to chap about the balance transfer and the block. He said that they shouldn't block it and maybe they had not updated their system. He told me to use the account no and sort code and to use the card no as the reference no.
I tried ther online one first and it went thru all right so I didn't get to try his suggestion.
He was really nice on the phone and I told him if it was not for their APR I would have stayed with them because he was so helpful. So thank you to Colin at HBOS customer services.
I also cancelled this CC so getting rid of them one by one
