Website help?

Hi,

I've had a couple of domain names registered for my husbands business for a while now and have not done anything with them as yet.

He has a small business and can't afford to pay for any companies to design a site so we're going to have a go ourselves.

I've noticed you can get a free option but can't add photos etc.. We'd be looking to pay about £2 per month for the hosting/website building.

Can anyone recommend a good well known company that I could trust to use? I've looked so far at 123, 1&1 website builder.

I'm worried about going with someone and getting caught out with high set up fees or the price increases after the first year etc.

Any help appreciated.

I have a feeling there mght be something on the Google site where they help you do it or Firefox. My grandson has his own website and I am pretty sure he did it all himself.

I have just entered "designing own website" in Google and a lot of free ones were shown.

There's Google sites which can be used with your own domain name via Google apps:

There's a free/standard edition and a pay edition. They seem to imply businesses should use the pay edition however I cannot see anything blindingly obvious in the terms and conditions that says a business cannot use the free edition.

Thanks for the info I'll look in to google. The main part of it will be info and photos to show what the business can do I think a pay per month option will be the way to go.
