ooohhhhh i so love charity shops!!! i've got so many bargains from there i could be here all day!!
the one at our local little row of shops is great for clothes and books.....every saturday they do clothes half price and any 4 books for £2.50,so i tend to only go in on saturdays!! i also go to others about our town though,to be honest i buy nearly all my clothes and my childrens clothes from charoty shops now.....im picky about brands still but refuse to pay shop prices!.
my winter coat this year cost me £8 in the charity shop.....its from dorothy perkins and an almost identical one they still sell is £80!! my childrens winter coats....a purple fluffy one from next and a gorgeous brown sheepskin type one from next cost just £2 each.0 -
For all you who love charity shops...... have you ever thought of volunteering? I do 15 hours a week in Shelter (giving me time for jobseeking at the same time). The obvious benefits are helping out a charity of your choice, meeting new people and free tea and coffee lol! But.... you also get a discount on goods!
My recent purchases have included a Helly Hansen snowboard jacket for DD for £3, a Scotland footie strip for £1 and brand new Warehouse trousers for £2.
Shops are always desperate for volunteers, so why not give it a go and save yourself a few pounds at the same time.
BTW, forgot to mention, you also get first dibs on the new stuff that comes in!

I got a 9ct gold rennie mackintosh bracelet and earrings for £3.50 in my local charity shop. There was a lady in front of me looking at it,she couldn't see the halmark. i had a look at it and saw it. it was very small. took it to the local jewellers and he said the bracelet was worth about £70. that WAS a great buyGoooooo with the Flowwwwww0

The best thing about charity shops is I can dump my unwanted gifts there (stuff that wont sell on ebay, or the postage cost overwhelms the item cost).0

oooooooooooh I just love charity shops ,but think some price there stuff well over the odds .I know one and some of their stuff is priced higher then you can buy it new for.
My best buy is between the large Barbie house I bought for £10 , at the time it was in the shops for aprox £70 new .My little girl wasn't even 1 when I saw it but I just couldn't let it go at that price so bought it and put it in the loft. She actually only got it 2 weeks ago on her 5th Birthday and she was so pleased with it.
Other buy was a foot spa £4 , brand new with all the oils etc .That is in the shops for £45.I was looking to buy one new at the time and couldn't believe the price when I saw it.Wish I could stop editing EVERY post I make :mad:0 -
