Planning trip to North Wales, where to stay?

Hello,

I wondered if anyone could tell me any nice hotels to stay near to Fourcrosses, Powys?

Also the things there are to do and see around that area too?

We are planning a trip to visit friends, who have offered us to stay with them, which is lovely but we don't get a break away from our young children very often so would appreciate the privacy of a hotel if possible.

i'm South Walian and all my trips to North Wales have involved tents and campsites - i get the feeling that's not *quite* what you're looking for!

hopefully people will be along in due course to offer hotel recommendations but if not I've always found the Welsh tourist board to be extremely helpful. if you google visit Wales you'll find the site for the Welsh tourist board.

As for things to do, we've really enjoyed the centre for alternative technology, llanberis (the Snowdon mountain railway is very popular), electric mountain (also in Llanberis), Llandudno and Beaumaris castle
