An hotel local to me is offering a package for £1000. They also give their prices for food for 2009/10. The package includes a buffet.

It being local to me, I have a meeting there tomorrow so I can get an idea of what their rooms are like.

Does anyone know any decent but cheap venues in Nottingham? I have emailed Holiday Inn Nottingham to see if they take part in the £999 deal but I'm not holding my breath as it seems only to apply to the locations that list the deal under their "highlights" section.
We're probably looking at about 30 for the ceremony and 100 max for the reception.

    Thanks
  • I think the £999 offer is only available on Fridays..........
  • try council building this is where I am having my evening do this is the cheapest place I imagine as it is council owned

we have booked at the holiday inn for the thursday 8th october this year but we have noticed that we are not getting everything that everyone else is.
all i was offered was as follows word for word:
    RED CARPET ON ARRIVAL
    INFORMAL HOST
    CIVIL CEREMONY ROOM HIRE
    CAKE STAND & CEREMONIAL SWORD
DRINKS RECEPTION & SANDWICH BUFFET FOR 30 GUESTS
    EVENING ROOM HIRE
EVENING RECEPTION WITH A HOTPOT BUFFET FOR 120 GUESTS
    EVENING RECEPTION DJ UNTIL 12:30am
ACCOMMODATION FOR THE BRIDE AND GROOM (SUBJECT TO AVAILABILITY

and that is at the holiday inn sutton.
we have since found out that the room is a standard room not the exective room like everyone else and we are not being told what a hotpot buffet is, we don't get seat covers if we want them then we have to pay extra. we were also told that with some code we were given our guest would get a discount on room hire and as we have alot of family coming from all over the country we thought this was great until my partner wanted to see how much they are saving with the code just to find out it is the same price if they don't use it. it would be really great if other people with this so called £999 deal would let me know what they are getting for there money. and congrats to anyone getting married in the near future:T.

As I thought, Nottingham Holiday Inn replied to my email saying that they are too small for weddings, it looks like the closest to me is Rotherham, a bit too far to expect people to come if they want a drink....gutted
Would still be grateful for suggestions in Nottingham though!
    Thanks

Had a reply from the other Nottingham/Derby Holiday Inn today, it's at J25 of the M1 and they are participating!
Will have to go and have a look what the outside looks like for taking pictures but it's looking promising again!
