interest charges on late partners account

Can anyone help? my partner died in late January, I informed the bank and provided them with Death certificate etc. and his accounts were frozen. However the bank continues to charge interest on his overdraft despite having made no attempt to contact me, (I am his exectutrix), the overdraft has now been cleared as it was covered by insurance, but the charges amount to several hundred pounds. Is this right? I have still had no communication from the bank apart from statements. Can I reclaim these charges?

You need to speak to the bank as the only legitimate interest is up to the date he passed away(unless its a joint account). As his executor you can reclaim bank charges, not interest charges. You can claim interest on the charges however.
You need to order copy statement first as you cannot do a subject access request since the subject is no longer with us.
Hope that helps and my condolences to you and the family.
I have not worked for NatWest Bank since February 2009

Thank you! I thought this was the case - typical of Llolyds!
