Avoiding stamp duty

The seller can pay the stamp duty for you, but then you'd need to offer very very close to asking price. If they are eager for quick sale, and you are FTB/no chain with mortgage set up etc, they are more likely to agree to this and it is totally legal, Gordon Brown doesnt care who pays his tax, just as long as someone does!0
