i buy alot of clothes from ebay for my baby and i hate it when sellers say the clothes are in excellent condition and when you get them they have stains and are tatty.alot of sellers sell tatt and list it as excellent condition but also alot of clothes are great.i think in some cases sellers need to be more honest.
also when things are listed as new without tags sometimes its quite obvious they have been used.
i love ebay in general and love the bargains.

If you feel the seller has been dishonest, do you leave negative feedback?

I ask because it seems that a lot of people are reluctant to do so. The point of feedback isn't to punish the seller. It's to warn others.

If a seller makes a mistake, I'm happy to give him the benefit of the doubt. But if it's blatant dishonesty (such as selling used items as 'new', or claiming to have posted the item a week before the date on the postmark), I don't hesitate to leave negative feedback. It's the only way to get these people off eBay.

If everyone did the same, eBay would be a whole lot safer for both buyers and sellers.

Things I like about buying/selling on eBay:

    Mostly easy, trouble-free transactions
Most items arrive within 2-4 days
Some great bargains on second-hand designer clothes

    Dislike:

Sellers who use inflated delivery charges to save on eBay fees
    Inaccurate item descriptions
Blurry photos (even a phone camera can take decent pics these days)
Tons and tons of counterfeit goods
Sellers who use a cheaper method of postage than what's stated in the listing
Sellers who lie about when they posted the item (the postmark is there for a reason)
Buyers who don't leave negative feedback for dishonest sellers

Unlike most of the people here, I don't have a problem with paying eBay/Paypal fees. eBay provides us with a pretty decent service. They deserve to make money from it. Sometimes they get it wrong, but what business doesn't? It's disgusting that so many people expect to get everything for free.
  • Likes = Easy money.

Dislikes = None. I find it a rather easy process and life is too short to worry about "potential dishonest buyers/sellers/ebay/paypal/foreign sales/feedback/other bolloxs posted on here".

yep i do leave neg feedback if item doesnt match description as some clothes are tatty and old yet they are listed as excellent condition and they have ended up in the bin.
i know people have different standards but its blatently obvious if clothing is tatty!!

    Car Boot Sales

    Dislikes:

    • Don't understand those that start at silly-o'clock in the morning, a time when the majority of the buyers are 'dealers' who only buy to sell on their own stalls?

    • Don't like dealers who are there week in, week out flogging the same tat that's generally gone manky thorugh constantly being stored and getting damp, etc. I couldn't justify setting up stall every week and paying the pitch fee and selling next to nothing.

    • People that state 'it was £X when bought brand new' - yeah and it's clearly not now...

    Likes:

    • Proper car boot stalls, where people have cleared out their attics

    • Sellers who ask reasonable prices for stuff.

    • You are doing your bit for recycling.

    • People can make a bit of extra pocket money, especially in today's 'credit crunch' climate

    • You can pick up things a lot cheaper than you would in the shops, especially 'niche' items, like baby items - that are literally used for a short span of time, so do not justify the shops overinflated price tag.

*Makes space so I can buy more junk
*Its it out the way and do not have to deal with eBayers who shouldn't be allowed a computer

    Dislikes
*People who try to rumage through the car if you are not careful.
*Dealers who ask if you have copper, mobiles, gold, etc.
*People who think if they are persistent you will accept their stupid offer. I am all for a cheeky offer but some do take the michael

Ebay, gave up on that as too much trouble.

I am only selling my junk so I suppose it is different if you do it as a business. I thought about setting up a business around eBay/carboot but decided it was more trouble than it is worth for me. I am sure however, that there are some people it works for.
