I have a STOP sign permanently on the display even though all other functions work. The readings all stay at zero even though it changes between them. If I set a target to work back from, say 20 mins....and start riding, it stays at 20 mins. Have checked all connections which appear fine. Have changed batteries. Have now run out of ideas ![/QUOTE]

The only thing DH can think of is that it didn't calibrate the magnets when you put it together. Did you hear it make a noise when you put the cable to the console?

  • So I know we can play PS1 games, but can we use the PS1 console? and how about the X-Box, will it work with that

Page 16 of the manual states that it is compatible with PS 1 & 2 and PC. Within the next three months, upgrades will be available for X-box and GameCube. HTH

Yes indeed - but when was the manual produced? Mine says on the front "issue 1, 11/02". I think that its possible they are old discontinued stock. But still a fantastic bike for the money.

When I spoke to Rebook they said that they never got round to developing the GC or Xbox interface. However a friend of mine has just bought an adaptor so that he can use Playstation controllers on an Xbox and is hoping that this will work

has anyone connected this to their pc yet? I am trying to configure it under xp pro and i can get it to see it under custom as a 4 button gamepad but up does not seem to work and only two of the other buttons work. Left, right, and down are ok. it will not calibrate very well.

    Any help appreciated.

Further investigations into clonking have revealed that the shaft that connects the pedals to the main unit has a slight amount of play in it, try pressing quite hard on either side and it seems to move with a slight clonk. Looking at the diagram in the manual the whole assempbly is held together with a spring clip so that chances of adjustment appear to be quite remote.
I have emailed Reebok for advice but as yet heard nothing.

From a struggling non techie fitness fanatic to be:

I had the same problem, Reebok said the speed sensor was faulty, and reporting this to newitts led to them senting me a replacement computer unit and console leads, which were obviously not the right items, so I opened it up and gave the speed sensor a smack, and that fixed it. Same kind of problem you get on normal cycle computers.

Won't help you unless you have a crack extractor to get cranks off though.

I have yet to receive a reply to the clonking noise from reebok but I did move it from the lounge to it's actual location in the study and the clonking has stopped. As suggested by someone else a bit off moving/pressure on the pedals may re-centre the shaft.
    Worth a try.
Still trying to find some good games, Ridge racer on the ps1 works well but sharp corners are a nightmare.

Still trying to configure it to the pc. Anyone else tried?

    You can use a PS1.

You can't use an Xbox unless you get an adaptor - and even then I don't think you'll get much out of it as 90% of Xbox games have accelerate as the right trigger rather than X. Which means, analogue, not digital so I can't imagine it will work well. Plus a smaller percentage allow use of the digital pad rather than the analogue stick.

Somethings will work but I'd suspect more won't.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again Driver is the only game I've found to work really well.
