Custard, Let us know what Reebok say about the clonking.

Someone has asked about the Heart rate monitor. I have already asked Reebok and they say that the Cyberrider is a modified version of an older machine that had the sensors on the handlebars so you could try getting hold of the handlebars (I think it was an RB100). But he did also say that it wasn't very accurate and recommended getting a seperate pulse meter.

i thought there were some cables that had a wrisband at one end and plugs into the console at the other?

surely those would be universal, where can i find them?

Has anyone had problems with changing the resistence? Mine just says 'Lo' permanently and does not change up or down.

I've got a Reebok exercise bike, maybe 2 years old. That's got pulse monitor on it, and he's right, it's rubbish. It wavers wildly between about 80 and 130. I hope it's faulty anyway - if my heart rate is really shooting up and down like that, then I'm in trouble.

Mine clonks on the left too, this seems to be a common feature so I guess it's OK.

Also I spoke to REEBOK about which games they recommend and they sent me the following list:-

24 Toca Touring Car Championship PS1
    25 Toca TCC 2 PS1
    26 Simpsons Road Rage PS1
    27 V Rally Championship Edition 2 PS1

I've got a few of those games and tried them - they really don't work that well some of them. TOCA for example is completely impossible - or at least very difficult.

To make it clear, any PS1 game will work. Revolving the pedal counts as pressing 'X' once. So any driving game that uses 'X' to accelerate works, which is pretty much all of them.

What you really want are games that allow hassle free roaming - and don't require slowing down. That's why Driver works really well - you can just wander around the city at your leisure (and it doesn't matter if you get tired because there is no penalty for slowing down) which is why I found it to be really good with the bike.

If you're wanting to race though, you want the most arcadey games. Like someone said earlier - Ridge Racer is a good choice. Gran Tourismo is really bad, because you need to slow down.

And while plenty of PS2 games work, some - such as LA Rush - don't recognise anything that isn't a Dualshock 2 pad (the one that comes with the PS2) - that's why I'm recommending PS1 games more.

Seriously, go for Driver if you want to try it out. If you like it, try more games but that is the place to start.

    Mine doesn't say this.

Wonder if changing the batteries would help?

Certainly sounds like a battery problem to me - when setting it up you couldn't change resistance without batteries, after all.

From a struggling non techie fitness fanatic to be:

I have a STOP sign permanently on the display even though all other functions work. The readings all stay at zero even though it changes between them. If I set a target to work back from, say 20 mins....and start riding, it stays at 20 mins. Have checked all connections which appear fine. Have changed batteries. Have now run out of ideas !

Any help much appreciated ! Thanks :)
