At last MBNA seem to be on Faster payments. Paid CC on Apr 30 and is now showing on MBNA website with a transaction date of Apr 30.

At long last. Should help some people this month who thought they were late!

Did you pay via your own online banking or their website?
No Longer works for MBNA as of August 2010 - redundancy money will be nice though.

No, paid from HSBC (First Direct). Its definatly a faster payment, It shows on the online MBNA statement as "Faster Payment - Thank You."

I sent a token £2 this morning to test it again. Doesn't show online yet, so I suspect the payment will either appear tomorrow or Mon.

All that means Sparkey is that it came from a bank that operates a faster payment system - not that it was processed in that why.

However, I believe MBNA are in the process of setting FPs up, just havnt rolled it out yet.

Oscar, it was sent on the 30th, and arrived on the 30th according to the online access.

Previously if I had sent on a Mon, it would show on a Thurs.

As I only sent the payment on Thurs, I would have expected it to arrive next Tues. It is there, showing online and its only Sat

When you get into work, see if there is an internal news item on it.

As an aside, HSBC bank to HSBC credit card transactions are credited within 2 hrs, but same 48 hrs to appear on statements. When they do, they show backdated 2 days. It would appear that the same has happened with my HSBC to MBNA payment. Yesterday it was not showing, today it is and it is back dated. Fantastic!

Who clears for MBNA. Is it HSBC?

Yep same here... my direct debit usually comes out on the 2nd of each month.

My Direct Debit for this month showed today (Sat 2nd) coming off my RBS account and credit to my MBNA credit card today with a date of the 2nd.

It usually comes out for example on a Monday and hits the account on a Weds or Thursday.

Looks like Faster Payments is finally here!

According to some web research. MBNA are with the CoOp. CoOp website says all their accounts are now faster payment. APACs gives a big yes to the sort code for the MBNA collections account.

Allow a day just in case!

Yep, it is Co Op - but payment clears with them first, then gets passed to us to be put on account.

As for DD - this doesnt really come under faster payments. DDs are called for around sevem days before they are due - they are then released on the due date.

If you have ever had a dd bounce on an MBNA card (might be same on others) you will se it credit your account, then be removed a couple of sdays later. Reason for this is MBNA will automatically credit the account with the payment on the assumption they are going to get it.

    Ok thanks for info.

My payment shows as "Faster Payment - Thank You." in MBNA and it transferred on the same day.

I'm just glad payments are moving instantly rather than the 4 days it used to take.
