    Hi,

If you just want website passwords remembered, then I find that Firefox does a pretty good job of remembering all of my website passwords on it's own. I haven't actually looked for an alternative password manager, as I use Ubuntu which comes with the Gnome Keyring Manager.

    I hope this helps...

    I agree with ScoobyDan....

The Keyring will store all system passwords & Firefox will remember website passwords.

No other software is required. :D

By the way what Linux are you running??

If you're using KDE on Linux, then KDE Wallet Manager is available.

keepassX - is in the UBUNTU repos. (Add/remove software).

The SAME database can be read in the windows & linux versions of the software.

keepassX - Linux / cross platform version

    keepass - Microsoft windows version

The version of Linux on the Acer is Linpus:

    http://www.linpus.com/

It's based on Fedora, so you should easily get KeepassX to run on it.

I think you need to look for KeepassX. Keepass was designed for Windows, though it has been ported to a few Linux distros.

I think Linpus is based on Fedora 9, so you may find that installing it out of the Fedora repositories may work.

Then again it may not! A lot depends on whether Linpus has all of the necessary libraries installed and at the right version.

One thing you can try is to open a terminal window and type "yum install keepassx". It will only work if keepassx is in whatever repositories Linpus uses.

A different approach might be to use the Advanced Mode hack described here:

    http://www.aspireoneuser.com/2008/07/09/aspire-one-advance-linpus-mode-hack/

That gives you access to many more programs - but don't blame me if something breaks as a result!
