Without knowing the six crus from the magazine, we're struggling with question 2. From all the googling I've done though, I know that this would be a fab comp to win - I'm tempted to book a trip anyway. Sounds fab!

Thanks original poster - I'll have a look for the magazine tomorrow and see if I can find it anywhere.

When you find which of the six crus he's reviewing (if you just get a chance to nip into Smiths and write them down!), the hectares of all in the region can be found HERE

I'm figuring we've got hints to 4 of them in the questions so far (Lirac, Beaumes-de-Venise, Gigondas, Vinsobres), so it's a case of which other two are in the supplement.

Keep us posted green1970 - I'd love this one! :D

I'm sorry, I did go into WHSmith but they'd already got the next issue for sale, they didn't have the edition in question.

Sorry - I'd love to have gone for this one.

Just found this site which lists the Southern Crus, of which there are 6, the largest vineyard area seems to belong to Chateau Neuf du Pape - http://www.nicks.com.au/index.aspx?link_id=76.827

I'm going to take a chance with that answer I think.

I knew my big wine book might be useful one day.
These are the wine yards in the region with the size of hectars

    Tavel 960
    Vacqueyras 1300
    Gigondas 1,240
    Lirac 700
    Beaumas De Venise 1,540
    Chateau Neuf Du Pape 3,140
I can only guess that these are the Crus that are being commented on. I am going with The Chateau Neuf Du Pape.

Woohoo, have gone for that one - I can't think that they'd do a review of six Rhone crus without there being at least one Chateau Neuf du Pape in there. However, we know that Beaumes de Venise is likely to have been one of the other six as it was featured in another question so that one may be worth a gamble if anyone wants to enter for a friend.
