I had the same issue with my nans house, you have to be a bit brutal and give the cheap stuff away to charity and let a great charity benefit and sell the good stuff, saying that if you have the time - it is car boot season and they buyers will be round your stall like bees to a honey pot and then what is left of the not so good stuff, take to charity - many different solutions. If it is lots of furniture, try freeads, freecycle etc etc if you just want rid.Food and Smellies Shop target £50 pw - managed average of £49 per week in 2013 down to £38.90 per week in 20160

Im in the same situation, my parents are moving house and cause my mum knows I sell on ebay shes trying to get me to sell her stuff.
I had to be honest and tell her theres no way someone is going to want to buy a pink ceramic sink and such like.
Just be ruthless and honest with her, take the stuff you cant sell to the charity shop and for the rest check out what the prices are like on ebay, take advantage of the 0.99 free listings at the moment and dont forget to factor in your ebay and paypal fees.
If the stuff isnt suitable for listing on ebay check out your local auction houses, they will tell you what will sell and what wont and will help you with valuations and reserve fees etc and unless its a large auction house the prices are quite reasonable.
Just make sure she knows that everything she or you tries to sell will incur a fee in one way or another.0 -
I would sell the good bits on e-bay and take the rest to a boot sale, at least with a boot sale you don't have the listing and pay-pal charges, selling things for 99p just isn't worth the hastle.0

Might be worth gathering the bulky stuff, and advertising a garage sale type deal? Not for the stuff you think is valuable obviously! My TV is broken!

Edit: refunded £515 for TV 1.5 years out of warranty - thank you Sale of Goods Act! :j0 -
Do you have a junk shop near you?
They often offer house clearance services.
You won't get a great price admittedly, but it will get rid of the stuff quicky and easily. This is my opinion. There are many others like it but this is mine:kisses2: Fiancee of the "lovely" DaveAshton :kisses2:I am a professional ebay seller. I work hard at my job, I love my job, if you think it's silly that's your problem not mine.

Take what you think will sell on eBay, and then arrange for a freecycle party - offer the entire contents of the house, but everyone has to turn up on a certain day to collect what they want.
There was one near here a few weeks ago, and it was a good way to meet people who you only know as a username.<--- Nothing to see here - move along --->0
