sorry perhaps i was being too harsh ..ill take back the bit about jeremy kyle
You should take back the whole bloody comment as a matter of fact. Why are you assuming that she would not know the father of her baby and also who she was sleeping with when she fell pregnant and your comment is indicitive that there could be more than one partner.

It's shameful and totally uncalled for. Maybe that kind of crap goes down okay in DT but here we are a bit more grown up.

i've calculated it and its £39 he has to give me every week, so do i just ring IS and let them know that we have agreed to an amount. and thats not bad if i get to keep the first £20.

No offence but how have you calculated that when you can't possibly know what he earns ?

oh another question, will he have to back date the payment for the whole year or not. i'm not to bothered about that if he doesn't have to give me the money. i'm just happy that now he will be in her life and we are both civilised about it

Morally yes, he probably should. Technically, no he won't. If it was a CSA case then the CSA would use the assessment date from when he got in touch but as you say, better late than never I suppose!!!

Try keep things friendly and not get the CSA involved as they are a bloody nightmare!!!!
It will be nice for her to have her Daddy in her life and she is young enough to not notice that Mummy has been doing a double job for the past year!!;)

Maybe she told him and he !!!!!!ed off but is now facing his responsibilites - who knows? but it's none of our business. She asked a question and comments like that are the reason that folk don't come back on this site.
  • If you come to a purely private arrangement (whether or not the payments are the same as what the CSA formula would come up with) he doesn't HAVE to do anything, that's between the two of you. If you go down the CSA route (and I would caution against it as that way madness generally lies), he will only be liable from the point at which they contact him.

The bits in various posts about the DNA test are only relevant if he denies paternity btw.

Oh look - LG got there first. Typical huh!!!

he has told me how much he earns and asked me to calculate it, i think he is feeling very bad that he hasn't been there for the past year, so wants to get this sorted as soon as:j

Yes. I think there's a form you fill out. What will happen is that they will take £19 from your IS at source. So he will give you the full £39 and then you will get your IS minus the £19 so you will be £20pw better off.

From next year you will get to keep all your maintenenace and also all of your IS.

Well good luck. And as others have said it is best to keep the CSA out of it.
