confused about bank charges and interest

hello

i have a nationwide flex account, i don't have an overdraft and on the 29th April Nationwide took out £60 for unpaid bill payments to another nationwide account (its my rent account) for february and march. I forgot i had this set up and canceled last week, before the charges came out, on the 23rd and i was charged on the 23rd and i was charged on the 29th...on my statement, it is listed as 'interest' but it isn't interest as it is a bank charge. Nationwide said that they have to give me 28 days notice of these charges, so how come feb and march have been take out in april. also, am i able to write to them and claim this back? I think i have a couple of hundred pounds to claim.

Can anyone help me on this...i

thanks in advance
