Misco Nightmare!

I've now come right to the end of my teather with Misco.

At the begining of February I had a fault on a hard drive I bought from them last year which was still under warrenty and it took 4 weeks for them to refund me. Now I've just found out that they haven't refunded the right amount of money. OK, it's only about a Pound, but that's not the point! Plus I spent almost £5 on sending it back to them so they could sort the refund out quickly, but it took them a week and a half and about 10 e-mails from me asking what was going on before they did anything!

Last Wednesday, before I knew about the refund problem, I gave them the benefit of the doubt and bought a new HD a router and some other oddments totaling over £100.00. As of today they've still not arrived. I tried e-mailing them twice yesterday and again today, but no reply. So, deciding enough was enough I called them. First call I was cut off. Second call I managed to speak to a sales advisor who put me on hold...until I was cut off! Third call I managed to get all the way to a customer service advisor before, you guessed it, I was cut off! Forth call I spoke to a woman who told me that the items had been returned to them, but she didn't know why. I gave her my home phone number and she said she'd call me back.

An hour later I decided I'd waited long enough and called them again. Only to be cut off! Call number six got me through to a stroppy woman who told me that I had been called back and a message had been left. When I told her that I had, in fact, not been called back she informed me that they'd used my mobile number. In fairness, I hadn't updated my mobile number on their site, but I had specificaly asked the woman I'd spoken to originaly to call me on my home phone!

Regardless, it turns out that the reason the items had been returned to them was that my old postcode had been used on the parcel and not my new one! They're telling me they won't refund the £5.88 delivery charge as it wasn't their fault! I told them that I'd updated my details with them just after I'd moved and that it's certainly not my fault they'd put the wrong postcode on!

She also said that they have to refund my money and I have to re-order the items! I asked how long that would be and she said it might be friday, but could be upto 5 days! I'm furious! I'm never shopping with them again. I'd rather pay a little more and buy elsewhere than p**s about with Misco again.

I'd agree with you, but for two points:

    1) I live in, what seems to be, the back-of-beyond and there's only one computer shop in town and I feel sure he'll charge me way over the odds for what I'm after.

    2) I need a HDD for a laptop; buying the from a highstreet store is just far too expensive.

I'm ordering from Ebuyer. It's about a pound more for all four items, but if they're service is better I can live with that!

Anyway, we'll have no trouble here and please be sure to avoid New Road on your way home! :D

I can well imagine; their customer service is appaling. It took my threatening them with Trading Standards and a personal letter to their MD before they relented and refunded me for the faulty HD.

I think they're !!!!!! too. Last year my mum wanted a flat screen for her home computer. Given she's internet averse, I ordered one with my cc while visiting for the weekend. (My billing address, her delivery address). Back to my home and work (300 miles away) on monday, and there's an email saying, "We can't delvier to that address, please contact us to arange an alternative".

I duly rang them up, and they said it must match my billing address. (Why did it give me the option of a different delviery address on the website then?) Given I wasn't prepared to lug a monitor 300 miles at my expense 'cos they're !!!!!! I duly cancelled the order. Bint on phone wasn't very happy about that, and tried to explain that I could register an alternative address with CC company (bullsh!t) I happened to be on the phone to CC company the same day, and also put a block on the transaction which Misco had already initiated!

I had that with them just after I moved and before all the rubbish with the HD. I'd ordered a router and since I'd not yet informed the bank of my move, left the billing address as MK and delivery address as Swaffham. They called saying they couldn't deliver to me, despite my telling them that I'd only just moved. I can understand that it#s a security feature, but it's going a bit far when you're ordering for a relative!
