How to get a debt in my name

Hi,

My girlfriend transfered a balance from one of my credit cards onto one of hers. I was given a card with my name on from her CC Co. (MBNA).

Searching these posts, it appears the debt is hers now. Is there any way I can get this put in my name at all? The bill comes addressed to her when it 'belongs' to me. I don't wanna stress her out.

I assume your g/f had you added as an additional card holder? If so, the debt is hers and other than you get a credit card and transfer the money back to your sole card or pay off what was transferred then the debt will always be regarded as hers. She has basically given permission for you to rack up debt in her name.

I can't see there is.. short of your opening/using an account and transferring it back. I suppose you could sign some sort of legally binding IoU to her which she could use in the event of your death to claim off your estate or if you split up. But I expect that's not really why you are asking. It wouldn't affect the position with respect to the credit card companies.
