Chasing up Job applications.

Thanks for all your replies...its interesting hearing other people's experiences.
I applied for a job which requested I completed a paper application and sent it to them. The closing date was 30th April. Do you think I should check to see if they've received it? If so, would it be better to call or email them?0 -
I would definately ring them, it gives you peace of mind that they have actually received the application.
Prior to the advent of the majority of jobs that I apply for being online I always used to include a stamped addressed post card for employers to return to me as confirmation that my application had been received.Earning Swagbucks since May 2012

To the OP, just apply for anything you want, then assume you have failed, apply for the next one and so forth. Each employer has vast numbers of applicants, so your chances of getting any particular job are slim. But if you make enough high-quality applications then you will get something. But this is probably best left until after the end of your exams.
On delays: I applied for a job last August, and was eventually interviewed this March. Perhaps that is a record.0
