Vent!! Halfcost/TNT

OK, ordered a furniture item from Halfcost on 2 Apr 09, they stated it could take up to a few weeks delivery (2 - 3 i think), yet they took the money immediately.
After a 2 week no-show i telephoned Halfcost and was told the people i needed to speak to were in another department and they would call me back; they didn't and for 3 days this is what happened, i call, they say they will call back, they don't!
I emailed Halfcost and they said not to worry the courier would be in touch soon.
3 weeks later still no show, another email and i get a call from the courier. Can i be in from 12pm the next day. I said ok.
OH takes a day off work unpaid, waits in all day, you guessed it no show.
I contact TNT that night and am told they cannot get hold of the driver, someone will call me back. I wait until dinnertime the next day (today!) and call the courier direct who say they will look into it and call me back. That was an hour ago.
Any advice/comments?
