Extended Car Warranty

Can anyone recommend a extended car warranty. My car is coming to the end of its's 3 year manufacturers warranty and I would like to protect myself as best possible from large repair bills. There seems to be alot of aftermarket companies out there, but knowing which one is best and who to trust is proving a challenge.

Can anybody offer any advice?

Apparently, aftermarket warranties arent worth the peice of paper they are written on. You are better of just putting that money aside for possible repair bills. Remember, these warranties dont cover eveything. If you are still interested, have a look at https://www.warrantydirect.co.uk or just do a simple search for car warranty on google.

Reply im a dealer and i have never and will never advise any of my customers to take out further warranties. They will never cover the "big bills" you are talking about unfortunatly and they will try and wiggle out of paying you for anything to be honest. Avoid them. Put a few quid into savings each month and if something does go wrong then pop into that.

I am also wary of extended warranties, having said that my current car came with a 6 month warranty through Olympic warranties. The clutch master cylinder went after a month, a common fault on Rover 75s, they paid for the labour and parts, the best part of £700, with no problems, they have also replaced the door locking motors and a window motor, no wonder Rover are no more !! So would probably recommend them IF you really feel you need one. They do have a limit on labour charges , it was around £35-40 ph, if your garage charge more you will have to pay the difference direct to the garage.

You can save a few ££ by buying it through, https://www.warrantyworks.co.uk probably worth going for the £1000 platinum cover, there is a list of what is covered but it's only for mechanical breakdown, not wear and tear.
