I don't want to be forced to have "Minimum Security"

Some news on this.
I purchased the insurance through Asda last week and eventually the documents turned up today and guess what? Despite my putting down that there were no security locks etc, and despite the documentation also showing that I had said there were no security locks etc, they've gone and put an endorsement onto the policy which says that I've got to get the locks and make sure that I put them into operation each time that I leave the house
So now I'm going to have to ring them up and cancel the policy and instead renew my policy with esure which does not force me to lock windows etc.
The annoying thing is that in the section where they documented that there were no locks etc, they did not put anything to say that an endorsement was in operation for that section - instead it was on the last page of about a dozen pages and nowhere apart from that page does it mention it at all.
The second annoying thing is that they were not going to reduce the cost of the policy. The cost was about a tenner more than if I had said that I did have locks etc.
Ah well better luck next year in finding a cheaper policy for my needs - I thought that doing it two and a bit weeks before the new one was needed was enough time, obviously not.
Thanks anyway to all who tried to help me.0 -
Zurich's Home Solutions doesn't require minimum security unless a security endorsement is applied to your policy. You'll be told if this will be applied before you buy the policy.0

Its a shame about that ianrberts, its lucky your an informed buyer and spotted this (The vast majority of consumers would have not read their documents and spoted it). It would have caused problems if you had a theft claim (It would probably have been sorted after a few letters etc)0
