Contents Insurance - Wife is Jewellery Retail Manager

I currently have Contents Insurance with esure, but it's up for renewal this month. I noticed a few weeks ago that they specifically exclude "jewellers", as do most of the other insurers I've checked. Obviously this is because a diamond seller is more likely to be followed home and burgled!

My wife works in her family business, managing two jewellery shops. It's all pretty low value - lots of body jewellery and silver fashion jewellery. I assume, though, that's we're not covered by many insurers.

Does anyone know of an insurer who will cover us?

You can try putting retail manager down but be carefull since I would expect that somewhere in the assumptions made for the quote they will assume anyone insured isn't involved in the trade of jewellery.

Plenty of insurers and products will cover people involved in the jewellery trade, though of course expect them to rate accordingly. The problem is that most of the big "name" brands are set up to cope with "standard" profiles of risks so will just blanket exclude because anything else messes up their predictable loss ratios.

They only answer left is, talk to a broker! In particular, your wife could have a chat to the broker she/her family buy their commercial insurance though and see if a deal can be done.
