driving lessons and Bad instructor?????

My son as been doing his driving lessons for ages now. When he started with this instructor all went well for the frist 3 weeks.

But then the instructor started to text him calling off lessions saying it was to wet and silly stuff like that. He as been doing them from dec last year and as a reslut of all the lessions that where called off it was a game of catch up in the next one so he ended up spending 10 lessions on one small bit of road (which there was no need for)

He was ment to go out tuesday but again it was called off and told he would be taking him today but my son as rang and text to find out times and such and he wont take his calls or text him back.

SO what im wondering is would my son have any right to his money back he as 7 more lessions paid for so need useing (but he now feels this guy is taking the pi/s out of him) He as paid out 600 to this guy for lessions and is being mead a fool off.

What rights would he have to get money back?

Can he get anything back?

Is the instructor employed by a driving school, self employed or working freelance for a driving school?

The one that takes my son runs his own driving school and as around ten other driving instructors working for him. So my son flet kind of lucky getting the owner. But looks to me like he as to much on running the school and maybe thats why this is happen to my son.

    Ok.

If he is really the owner then you should consider sending him a letter asking him to fulfill his contracual obligations.

If this fails to elicit a response then send a Letter Before Action - Warning of small claims court action if you do not get a refund.

If that fails then a Money Claim Online / Small Claims Court

You can search all of the above terms on here or Google to get more info.

    Good Luck.

What I'm about to say to you is not meant to be offensive but its a fact with a lot of driving schools. If your son is a really bad driver and they think he has no chance they start to do exactly what your driving school is doing messing him around. but you could do like Enfieldian has said and ask for a refund and try asking him for some compensation as well as it is him not filling out his contract. have you got a contract? or anything in writing? Or maybe if you are on good terms with a friend or family, Neighbour book him again through their address ;) be as sneeky as him i say.

gosh it happens all over - i used BSM and the instructor I had was shocking... he taught me my manoeuvres THE DAY OF MY TEST! 4 hours of lessons before my test, needless to say I failed! He also used to make me drive around in a little square for weeks!!!! I was to embarrased to tell him I wanted to change instructors.

My cousin had an instructor that on like his 8th lesson spent two hours teaching him about the suspension! Needless to say he has changed instructors now x
