Dont buy Vax!!!

Just bought a new Vax v006 to replace my dyson and after 20seconds of use blue smoke came out of it and it stopped working. When i phoned up Vax customer support they at first mis diagnosed the problem and the operative on the phone would not listen to my vax's symptoms and then hung up on me. When i phoned up to complain they basically told me that it was not their problem and i should deal directly with the sellers of the item - luckily the sellers will except the item back with full refund. But after the so called customer support from Vax, i have swore never to use there products again and i implore that you do not either.

First of all I would like to say how sorry I am that the you have received such a bad time with your item.
Secondly I would like to say that I too am a Vax owner and although i have had problems with a certain product I have never bad mouthed a company just cos they can't sort it out over the phone. I have always phoned up vax and explained that i have had a problem with a particular model then asked if they have had any other calls of this nature about the said model and then ask them to keep it on record that they have received a complaint. Then it is your job to take up any problems with the supplier of the vax. Vax have a customer support number... does not mean that you can just expect miracles, they are NOT mind readers and are not engineers. :rolleyes2
Put it down to a bad experience and dont' buy again, surely a purchase is down to each individual without you playing god and telling people what to do
Proud to be me, proud to be who I am!!0 -
I think in this day & age, companies should make the customer the king, first time every time!! & if you do have a problem with a company, its fine to bad mouth them, atleast the rest of us can beware before we buy
No one said it was gonna be easy!0 -

But only if it's justified! It's a simple fact that you make your contract with the seller of an item, not the manufacturer. Vax were quite right to tell the OP to go back to the seller about it. It sounds like Vax' only mistake was not to tell the OP this in the first place.Time is an illusion - lunch time doubly so.0 -

I bought a Vax a few years ago but took out the 3 year warranty. After about 6 months one of the clips that holds the top on broke off but I just persevered with it and then after about another 2 months another broke off. Then the hose broke where it attaches to the main part of the Vax and then it just stopped working. Phoned Currys and the sent out a courier to collect it and about 5 days later I received a letter saying that it was unrepairable and included a voucher for the full amount. I went back to Currys with the voucher but didn't buy another Vax. I bought an Electrolux for about 2/3rds of the price the and it's still going strong about 3 years later.0

What vax are we talking about? the 149 pound upright one which is advertised on TV washing carpets? The contract is with the retailer so VAX were right to tell you that.
Anniek I think is talking about the old style orange bucket on three wheels one, I have one of those and it is still strong after a good 15 - 20 years use, though I don't use it now, except to wash with when the need arises.0 -
I love my vax0
