Wanadoo ripping me off

I'm incensed and choking on my own rage. I have been a loyal Wanadoo customer ever since the days when they were called freeserve. At the moment I pay £29.99 a month for a 512k uncapped internet connection.

Now when Wanadoo took over freeserve because they were only offering a 1Mb capped internet access for £17.99 (if I remember correctly) to all their new customers, they also offered us exsisting customers the choice of keeping our 512k connection uncapped and continue to pay £29.99 a month. Fair enough I thought. I'm a heavy internet user i'll do that.

Now today low and behold I find out that Wanadoo quietly snuck in the following deal which wasn't there before. 8Mb UNCAPPED internet connection for £29.99

Wanadoo are quick to remind me every month that payment is about to be taken from my debit card, or when they want me to buy something from them so why on earth would they not instantly upgrade me?

I know morally they are in the wrong but surely I have grounds to ask for some of my money back? They didn't even send out an e-mail telling us this service was now available. Pffff!!

Anyone else been burnt?

I am a wanadoo customer ( 1 1/2 years) recently upgraded, with a little help from the internet board.

The 8mb offer is only available in certain parts of the uk ( manchester among other places) it is not available everywhere.

Ring customer services and askto cancel they will probably upgrade you.

    I hope this helps.

shiprob195 thanks, I think I will ring and tell them i'm cancelling, even if they take me up on my threat I couldn't care less.

I've just noticed i've posted this on the wrong board so apologies and i'll rectify it now.

    Ditch and switch.

They will probably drag their heels though on the transferring of the broadband connection though.
