hi there i was in the same situation as you, i know what you are going through, i phoned credit card company and explained my situation (i had hours reduced at work) i gave them a income and expenditure and they reduced my monthly payment for 6 months with no interest charge, catalogues etc did the same, phoned e.on for gas and electric and they spread payments over 6 months also, please try this, it worked for me and it was nice to have some breathing space, worrying was making me ill, good luck to you both xx0

I can imagine how you feel, it's really difficult managing at the moment.
The thing to do is write a list of all your income, from all sources and then a list of expenses.
You need to prioritise your expenses with council tax, water rates, food, petrol for work, gas and electricity, even tv licence, and mortgate all coming before credit card debts or other unsecured loans.
cancel all direct debits before you get charged bank fees.
Phone all credit card or non secured debts and make offers to repay and ask for interest to be put on hold. Some credit cards will do this after talking to you, some will ask to see your income and expenditure list first.
You say you have a final bill for gas when you changed suppliers. phone them and make an offer to pay weekly or monthly but only at an amount you can afford.
If all these things do not work or no one will co-operate with you, then go to the CAB and ask for an appointment with a debt councillor who will help you sort things out,.
Good luck with the interview, hope you get the job.0 -
i jus had a call from haliafax to say there has been a problem with our consent to lease, basically they originally sed because there is no equity left in our house we couldnt change to a ctl product, but they would allow us to rent the house out n the payments would stay the same.... anyways it turns out they have decided to change our product over to the ctl product, cuttin our mortgage payment from £820 to £614!!!!!!! result, we have the property up for £575 so that jus leave us with £40 a month towards the mortgage instead of the current £820

Thats excellent news, will free up a good bit of cash going forward. Is it because you were on a fixed rate mortgage and are moving to a variable or does it become an interest only mortgage under ctl? Either way its buying you some breathing space.
Did you get through to the utlility company? any luck regarding paying over a few months?A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0 -
its because our fixed mortgage is currently on 7.4% and the new ctl product is 5.2% they are both interest free

jus wanted to say a massive thanks for all your replies
OH's parents have lent/ given us the money for the bills, the mdd and some for food and petrol. They have sed not to worry about payin it back, so me and OH have decided we do want to pay it back, we are jus grateful enough to be able to borrow this, so will pay it back after all the other debt is cleared

Glad to hear you sounding better in yourself!
Once you do let the house, don't forget to make plans for the income tax you will need to pay at the end of the financial year. Lots of people forget and then have a massive stress when they need to pay the inland revenue.Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0 -
