Well it certainly helped Labour get some good headlines at the time, unfortunately just like most of their schemes, they are merely headlines.

A LABOUR scheme to help vulnerable families avoid losing their home is today exposed as a sham.
Only one household has been helped by the £200million Mortgage Rescue Scheme since it was launched in January.
This is despite 452 households applying for help in the first three months of the year.

Very amusing.0

Actually, on second thoughts, not amusing at all.
What a huge waste of taxpayers' money.
Wonder how many individuals are being paid to administer/devise this utterly ineffective, pointless scheme?0 -
Its a disgrace, the government should make it much easier for people to be bailed out of their mortgage commitments with taxpayers money. :rolleyes:0

David Cameron was banging on at the start of this that it wouldn't work, and has banged on about it quite a bit since.
Gordon just keeps saying it is in process and will help hard working families.
The bankruptcy and repo figures are out today I believe, which could be interesting.0 -
Brown just keeps lurching from one disaster to another, I mean that youtube video a couple of weeks ago from No.10 was just awful, I mean who looked at that and said 'yep, good to go', quite amazing really.0

Now that's what I call value for money :eek:0 -
what has happened to the other 451? Are they bogus claimants or have they been reposessed or what?0

I'd like to see the same figures for the government EFG scheme for lending to business, which I also feel is a complete and utter scam.0

The selective quoting is starting to reek of desperation, it seems there are many applications still being processed.
I don't care much either way but the bias is pathetic. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

I agree.
The fact that the 'article' starts by incorrectly calling it a Labour scheme, rather than what it actually is, a GOVERNMENT scheme proves it is all about Labour and Brown bashing rather than actual News reporting.'In nature, there are neither rewards nor punishments - there are Consequences.'0
