13 year old with greasy hair

I didn't realise they still made Batiste dry shampoo. I remember, back in the seventies, they brought out a version for dark-haired people which was a bit like brown soot. I asked my mother to buy me some as I looked stupid with the usual white powder dry shampoo in my dark hair, but she was horrified and told me not to be lazy and just wash my hair, lol!0

I was having same problem with my 12yr old and have started to use Head & Shoulders for greasy hair and I have definetly seen an improvement, her hair is much softer as well.0

I wish they still did the dark version...it would save alot of brushing!0 -
Agree with the H&S suggestion. A zinc pyrthione shampoo such as ZP11 may help. The best way of regulating grease would be to increase the intervals btwn washing - difficult I agree when you are a self-conscious teenager but maybe the next half term break whilst swatting for end of year exams may be the time to try?Value-for-money-for-me-puhleeze!

Hope is not a strategy...A child is for life, not just 18 years....Don't get me started on the NHS, because you won't win...I love chaz-ing!

Seconded for trying Lush shampoo bars - they're the only thing I've found that actually get my hair squeaky clean! Plus (to keep it MSE) if you buy two you get a free shampoo bar tin (though don't put shampoo bars in the tin before letting them dry out, or you'll never get them out again!)... and cos they're solid you don't accidentally squirt out more than you're going to use.
Keep conditioner away from her scalp, and do a last rinse of her hair with cold water - and have you thought about washing her hairbrush? It could be transferring some grease back on to her head after she's washed it.0
