does anybody know any european countries and supllier who will allow a 20 year old to rent a car?

I tell you what, I work in overseas breakdown insurance and we come accross this kind of problem. From experience it can depend on the rental company although they are few and far between to accept. you will have to live them your credit card as a garanty that you will bring back the car in one peace and with a full tank (thats the norm)... I tell you what, I am due to work this weekend so i will check my chain of people that know people that would. Dont get your hopes to high though!

I am back.... Unfortuantely it is not good news ! Got my team onto checking if anyone in Europ would.
On the principle (main hire companies) wont. Something to do with their insurance.
I know in france I know of a couple of places that would do that but they are family owned company, nothing main stream.
The only option (not an easy one) would be to get your own insurance .....now that is complicated (particularly if you dont speak the local language) and can be extremely costly : le last one we were able to help was 19 and his ferrari had broken down so he had no problem getting the found to sort this out.
Sorry it is not really the answer you were looking for.
