HI,
Yes, I only use them now (for chicken).
Some people say they are salty... Well... I don't think they are too salty. I don't think they are more salty then cube.
When I make chicken soup, all I do now is to boil the chicken with vegetables etc for while, cut it all to pieces, add 1 of these and oh la la!! Dinner is served!
I only used it in the soup tho, maybe it tastes a bit saltier if you use it in a smaller amount of liquid.. like a sauce or something.
Also my sister used the beef one and she didn't like that one.0 -
Is this the one that Marco advertises on TV?
Did I see Matrin in Marco Hell's kitchen program?
Because I'm wondering what Martin wants to know about Knorr Stockpots for?
Why would he be shifting this post/thread about just to get more replyies?

I made some soup with them today. It takes quite a few pots to make the soup, but they're well worth it.
Thanks for the tip about the salt, as I didn't have to add any salt to the soup, not even a drop.
I'd love to try the Knorr packets of fresh stock sometime.0 -

You do get a lot of pots dirty, but I usually do loads of it and then freeze either just some of the stock for cooking sauces or the stock with chickend and veg to make another couple of portions of soup on the days I don't have time/cannot be bothered to cook or for weekend lunch. Cheaper then buying ready made stock;)0 -
I like them, but agree with the salty comment. One made a Jamie Oliver pie and put 2 in it plus extra salt (following the receipe). It tasted horrible. But now I use one and add no addditional salt and they are great. Prefer them to Oxo.I want to be credit card and loan free by Christmas 20100

I tend to use them in soup only and don't add salt, certainly think they have a much better flavour than the cubes- just wish they did a ham version.

Martin doesn't want to know about the stockcubes:rolleyes:. That message you saw about the moving of posts is a standard post that the board guides use when they are moving a post to a place where it is more suited (makes more sense to have this one in the grocery board).
I don't know where the OP originally posted, but if it was the DFW board for example, you can see that it is more suited to here rather than debt busting. That's all - no conspiracy;).

I have used these to make risotto with (chicken version), they are salty and its just a case of tasting as you season, I find that they are pretty convenient and I like the flavour which to my mind is more reminiscent of real stock than can be obtained from a dry cube.
The risottos I have made with these have been great. I do think they are expensive for what they are though (usually £2 for 8 pots) in comparison with cubes - but I have managed to buy them on offer for 99p for 8 pots in Sainsburys twice which I think is great value for a great product.Hoping for a calmer year in 2012
