Foodstuffs are cheap compared to other shops.
    Hardware is cheap (and crap).

Garden rake, both sides of the head bent first 5 minutes.
Retractable dog lead snapped within a couple of days.
Washing basket for carrying clothes to the line cracked and broken first day.

We've got one in Durham, it's right next to Home Bargains! I prefer Home Bargains, it's bright and airy whereas B&M bargains feels quite oppressive. Nothing to do with the products, I just don't like the shop itself!

The one in Durham is a homestore one, it doesn't sell all the products the real one in Houghton does.

The list on their website is not complete as far as I can see (regarding the Scottish stores).
There's one in Dundee (Kingsway retail park, next to PC world). They took over the old Au Naturel stores when they closed down, so there might be one near you!

Here's an older thread which mentions another few B&M stores in Scotland:http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=1505183&highlight=mrsb

B&M Bargains is hardly a 'new' shop - it existed around Blackpool and the Fylde in the late 1970s - I remember ones in Lytham and Kirkham as early as 1978...

The one in Cleveleys even has coach parties going to it..!

I'm lead to believe that's the first store that opened, I've been going for years.

As a coincidence, my son got banned from this store today for looking after 3 mates bikes outside whilst they went in & bought drinks. He was told he is on cctv for blocking the entrance & is therefore banned from going instore  Maybe they should invest in a bike rack. (especially since they have recently built the bike area on the front for BMX's)
Now thanks to Tommix & Queen Bear, now Lady Westy of Woodpecker :)
