Where can I find cheapest high performance computer?

My partner is looking for a high performance computer for HPC development. Not going to be used for gaming but was told need to use Nvidia graphic cards as it supports CUDA. Preference is for a laptop due to lack of desk space and portability. However, we are also considering desktop for cost/spec comparison and hoping to spend the least possible. Basically need top Nvidia card, multi core processor (Intel) and high ram for the cheapest price. We have 4TB server so not worried of hard disk space.

Is this the best value high performance laptop?

What about desktops? https://www.pcspecialist.co.uk has custom built pc for GBP1.3k with
- Intel® Core™2 Duo E8600 (2 X 3.33GHz) 1333MHz FSB/6MB L2 Cache
- 8GB CORSAIR DOMINATOR 1066MHz - LIFETIME WARRANTY (4x2GB)
- 2GB NVIDIA GEFORCE GTX285 PCI Express + DVI
anywhere cheaper?

Any advice appreciated. Thanks.

Thanks isofa. Unfortunately ATI Graphics card does not support CUDA. Can only use nVidia.

I assume they are both customisable on order, they have won several awards recently, so you can switch for a nVidia card.
