For Debtdestroyer007 and Never in doubt:- did you guys confirm for definite that it was equifax that was searched?
Also, what reason did they give for refusing?
Sorry for the questions, but i dont wish to waste a search if they are strict.
Only have 1 EQ search in the last 6 months; but 5 EX searches in the last 6 months. No adverse, no late paymts...all in order. CC far from maxed.
2 yrs on electoral roll on current address

Yes they are strict, don't worry about searches LOL - more than say 10 over the last year is a start to worry - if you've less than 6 over last 6 months then this card wouldn't refuse for that!

They searched Equifax for me - I can confirm that, no sign on Experian.

With sadness and regret, i announce that i was declined by Johnie Lewis mastercard for no good reason!! What a shame and waste!
I rang up to enquire and i was told there was no specific reason but that i didnt meet their minimum criteria for this card. It sounded more like an internal criteria issue as she confirmed there was no adverse info on my reocrd. The lady said i shld try in 6 months time.
    But their criteria says:
Ready to apply? Before you start, please check that you can answer the following questions.
    • Is your partnership card™ for personal use?
    • Do you have a UK residential address?
    • Are you aged 18 or over?
    • Do you have a household income of more than £4,000 a year?
    • Do you have a good credit history?

And i can confirm that i meet all the requirements above. I do not know if their system doesnt like self employed as that is my status for the last 4 yrs. I have heard that due to credit cruch lenders are tweaking their system to be 'hostile' to self employed applicants.....very meaningless cos the crunch shows to mercy to employed or self employed
