Deb Free Treat...

Hi,

I just wondered what you all have planned as a treat/rewards when you hit your debt free date??! I know being debt free will be good enough but I fancy treating myself when I get there (within reason!). I thought maybe a holiday, but then I need to save up before hand so that's no good!!! I think by setting my target I've got more chance of sticking to it if there's a reward at the end of it??!!!

Any simple/easy ideas??! :money:

Buy a house! Get more into debt!

But I promised myself that I would clear all debt before buying so there you are ...
  • Taking the children to walt disney world in florida, but this will be after I've paid all the debts and saved up. They might be adults by the time we go but its something to work towards.
I find it's easier to focus on what we can do once debt free. It makes it all feel worth it.

I am going to save for a well-deserved holiday as I haven't had one for NINE years!!!!

Just a weekend in New York or something like that.

  • Check out the sig - MONTREAL here we come!

Seriously though, we're having a meal out the night after we're balanced, and the trip to Montreal is OH's 30th birthday pressie - though I'm looking forward to going too.

We might also get a little mortgage and buy a new house, but that's a pipeline for life rather than a celebration of debt free ness.

Oooh I'd love to go to New York for the weekend!!:D

We've not had a holiday abroad for 9 years too - it sucks don't it?

We went to Butlins last year though and 2 years before that, better than nothing eh?;)

As daft as it sounds, I am going to treat myself to a nice picture frame... so that I can make a nice little picture of the various bits of my cut up credit cards, and display it somewhere to remind myself everytime I see it what I went through clearing it all! :rotfl:

Other than that, I don't know what I'll do to 'celebrate' - although there will be something!

  • we dont have anything planned as for us the debt free date seems so far away but i guess as we will both be in our late 30's we porobably will start thinking about buying a house well at least saving some money for a deposit.
