Does your child use a cabin bed? Advice Needed!

Hi,

We have just bought a cabin bed for DD - we never realised (until first time using it last night!) that it wouldn't take a standard mattress as a normal mattress is 90cm wide and this one is only 75cm wide!

I have now ordered a small single mattress - however surely the actual duvet/quilt will still be too big?

I have looked for a small single quilt/duvet to no avail - does such thing exsist or do you manage with a normal one?

As there are raised sides it doesn't look like we would be able to tuck the quilt in and I don't want to ruin the effect of the bed - any ideas?

Thanks

I have this problem with my sons top bunk.

I just fold the quilt underneath itself at one side so it looks tidy :)
Tank fly boss walk jam nitty gritty...
  • my son has a double duvet during the winder anycase for extra warmth, (on his bunk beds) as above poster said it doesnt look silly, with raised sides the duvet will still fold partly under the matress.

    Thanks for your replies.

As the standard size mattress was squeezed into the cabin bed last night with the quilt on top - it looked awful!! We tried to persuade DD to sleep on the mattress on the floor, however she was so excited about the new bed (she's 4) - we managed to wedge it in!

Hopefully once the correct fitting mattress is in the quilt will look a lot better than it did last night!

    Thanks for the reassurance ;)
