How to get PruProtect

11 Posts
Hi
I am looking to get life insurance from PruProtect, im already a platinum PruHealth member.
Ive now been searching the PruProtect website for hours and its sending me mad, how do you actually apply for a life policy from PruProtect, there are no links on the website whatsoever.
Is it actually possible for a normal person to get a life policy from PruProtect or is it just for company employees or something?
Thanks

Just sent you a Private message.
If you had something helpful to add to the thread, why not post it for all our benefit?
I wonder!!!!
Prefferably one who will give you some of his/her commission back (say 50% of your first years premium).
Even better would be if they were a Pruprotect and Pruhealth member themselves and can provide you with lots of helpful tips and advice on top of the 50% commission rebate.
Now if only i was allowed to help you..........but i'm not allowed, its apparently against the rules to save someone money if i gain from it as well and it actually ends up that we both benefit. Heaven forbid! So good luck in trying finding one i suppose.
You would probably claim to be a reputable broker, but not from what we learn of your busines methods here. Reputable brokers don't come here scouring the forum for an opportunity to do some "covert" advertising and tout for some business from the market of MSE members.
If you really want to help people save money, all that is necessary was to post pointing out that many brokers are prepared to share their commission with clients, and that people should look for a good local broker they can rely on (rather than a rogue broker trying to bend the rules here by abusing the pm system to get some free advertising!)
Im wanting Life Assuarance from PruProtect. Why would I go to a financial advisor and pay them money?
If I wanted Life Assurance from Norwich Union, I would go to their website, get a quote and apply.
If I wanted Life Assurance from Legal & General, I would go to their website, get a quote and apply.
If I wanted Life Assurance from Halifax, I would go to their website, get a quote and apply.
........And this list goes on for every bank and insurance company!!!!
Why can't I go to PruProtect get a quote, and apply?
Im not going to any IFA, when I can simply go to most banks insurance companies, get a quote and apply! then get Life Assurance for £7 per month. Whats the problem with PruProtect, I just wanted to go with them as I have PruHealth insurance.
I never went to an IFA to signup to PruHealth!!
Some companies like to keep all their balls in the air (traditional business via brokers as well as direct sales) by having exclusive products for brokers to sell, thereby keeping them sweet, and stop them complaining that their clients can get similar products cheaper direct from the company.
If you are dead set on the pru policy, then you have to go via an intermediatory.
They have an online demo for brokers. This shows the broker getting £1377 plus £1.39 every month for 23 years for arranging a £55/month policy.
See demo at bottom right of this page:

No wonder they can give you some cashback!
It's a much clearer way of doing business, you agree an hourly rate and the expected time taken to do the work, then you have a choice of paying it directly to the adviser, or in some cases, the adviser deducting the fees from the commission and refunding the difference.
I'd be the first to agree that in some cases the commission offered for the time spent on a case can be out of proportion, and this gives a much clearer and fairer route.
I am a member of a profession which, on the whole, I am proud of, but there will always, as in any profession, be those happy to cut the odd corner but happily this is becoming a rarer event.
Wakeman...........go in and see/phone them you dont need IFA for insurance.
Pete.............is that ok stephenni

You do with some products / providers. This is the case with Pru Protect as has been stated by those who know what they're talking about.
