Local bargain Ebay

I love this site ,dont get me wrong and this is only the third time this has happened - but you watch something for days - keep watching , keep waiting for the last seconds so you can bid knowing that you wont be paying the sometimes excessive postal fees ( not always sellers fault , just the weight of the item )
10 seconds - waiting - 7 seconds - waiting - 4 seconds bid , confirm - the crowd goes wild , ye haaw !

email seller - its 20 miles away - not in your city at all ( " but it was the closest to where we are ! )

yeh ! - well shove it ! ,poke it right up your Arsenal FC - Within 5 miles is 5 miles to me - not 25 miles ! ( could send to you via courier !..........£20 ! )

No !!!! off !

rant over

And you never thought to email them in the "days" you spent watching it?

The only choice I had when I registered my account that fitted the bill was 'London'. Conceivably that would easily be a 3 hour trip round the M25 if the other user lives on the wrong side of the centre and doesn't want to go throught the middle and pay congestion charge.

I would never even consider buying anything unless I get a post code, and most buyers are happy to give at least the first bit out if asked. When I used to sell items for collection I used to put the first bit of the post code in the auction, but still people asked me for more.

I thought the distance nearest went on postcodes and not areas, so if it said within 5 miles, then their postcode should be within 5 miles of yours?

I think it depends on how the account was set up and where. I hve several accounts, some show on a post code and one only ever offered me a location.

The newest account gives me the choice to actually be listed by post code or location.

when you list auctions you can edit your location, mine says carshalton, surrey....can't be much more specific.
