Global Payment Services Inc Scam Letter

I have not seen anything about this scam but I just got this letter from Global Payment Services Inc saying that

I am a winner of a whole $1. However if I send them $39 I will get it converted to $1,000.

I think I will reply to them that if they convert it into sterling I will take them up on their offer :rolleyes:

The envelope will of course be unstamped.

So is this the latest scam to come out of the good ol USA?

This is a ploy to get your card details - just throw it away, the fact it has a red stamp over it makes it void anyway. Also read the small print "we occasionally share our customers details with third parties" and free great merchandise means you will be put on a suckers list and receive up to 100 of these a day saying you've won something.

I know that, I even posted in the header that it was a scam. I thought I would point it out to others, I never expected someone to post that it was a scam. Talk about posting the obvious.

I don't think I'll bother the next time as no one is daft enough to fall for that kind of thing anyway.

Oh wait, what was that about someone losing their house? Someone giving out their card details when the contract was in their OH's name? Should I go on?
