Do i have to inform Car Insurance

This years car insurance ran out april 1st
next years is with a new company paid for on march 16th

March 19th i had a fight with a kerb and put a claim in on the insurance that was soon to run out

do i have to let them know now or just next year when i renew
if i do have to let them know now are they able to ask for more money

I have 7 years protected btw

    You will need to let them know now and they may well ask for an additional premium.

    Yes you need to let them know, if you dont and you make a claim, you could find that they wont pay out.

    Its more likely to go up than stay the same.

    Assuming they had protected no claims bonus the increase (If any) should be minimal, if they did not have protected no claims then the increase could be a fair amount more
