Desktop photo problem

Options
Can anyone help.

I have a lovely photo on my desktop which disappears after a few seconds and a message appears that says IMAGE CURRENTLY NOT AVAILABLE

I've tried to change the photo to another one and tried one of the standard ones but still the same message.

My laptop works fine otherwise but this annoys me.

You don't say what operating system you use, nor how you tried to set it as the desktop background - assuming that's what you want to do...

For example if using WinXP, if you right-click on the desktop, choose Properties, Desktop, and then Browse to the file that you want, do you still get the error message?

I use Windows XP and yes that's how I got my photo on in the first place, I've tried to change the photo to another one and tried one of the standard pics and still get the same message, the pic is there because I can see it when I switch my laptop on but after a few seconds I get that message and can only see about 2 inches of the pic where my icons are.

It sounds like your desktop settings are set to the wrong display settings, XP will boot up and show the image, then it will disappear as it sets the graphic resolution for your desktop, try reducing or increasing your desktop graphics settings.

    Thanks marleyboy,

I looked at the desktop graphic settings and tried to change the resoloution but wasn't successfull - however the pic is back on, although there is vertical line running down the screen just after my icons and there is a small red cross on a white background just inside the line.

But thanks I can live with that.
