he's letting you leave??? wow.. you are losing a brilliant landlord there... you've only been in there a month and he's willing to try and solve your problem quickly and he's sympathetic..this probelm should be gone in a few weeks and you could end up with a total sod of a landlord who isnt prepared to fix anything.. good luck!!

Ah charliee don't you think you are being a bit unfair? Some people REALLY don't like insects you know and especially not around a baby - I would freak if I had bees in my place, sad but true, it just freaks me out!

to be honest i understand the comments, personally i am not petrified of the bees, but they are coming in from all angles, in all rooms, we cant see where from, some days we are getting more then 20 and they are crawling all over stuff, like this morning in the bed with the baby, so i guess what i am talking about is an infestation, i hear what people are saying that they dont sting, but would you still want a bee (and by the way the look just like the real thing in terms of size) crawling all over your child? what can i say, perhaps you are all right and its a massive over-reaction but all i can say is i have a pregnant wife who is scared of them, upset and worried about our child. Would you be so flippant if in my shoes? So, thank you for your advice, however perhaps the landlords decision to release us indicates the extent of the problem, i think it may be difficult to let from now on...would you rent something that when you views was full of bees?

I really don't think you are being unreasonable by not wanting to be there - not that my opinion counts for much but I do understand! The thought of the bees is making me go all funny tbh

many thanks for the responses especially those who are polite and sympathetic. All of the responses are useful none the less. We found 3 bees in our babies bed with him this morning. Perhaps its an over-reaction but to us this was distressing. Fortunately the landlord has agreed to let us out of the contract if we pay an extra month rent, not ideal but a solution for both parties. thanks again.

Can't an insect net be placed over your child's cot?

Ah ignore the above see from your post they are everywhere eiwww, glad you have managed to get out of your contract.

Sorry that you feel people are being "flippant" - ask for views on a public forum and that is precisely what you get - other people's views, which will not always concur with your own. Sometimes it can help to hear how others see things and presumably you must have though this originally or you would not have posted. I recall your posts in another thread dithering over the completion of your house sale a few weeks ago, so maybe you are feeling weighed down by the responsibilities of house moves and family.

However , as we have gone from reading that there are 10 to 15 bees a day, to 20 bees, to the property being "full of bees", I think the LL has probably made a wise decision, both for your sakes and for his own.

I hope you are successful in finding a new place to rent.

    Well thats good news.

I trust you are aware that your landlords reaction has been the exception rather than the rule? and you are highly unlikley to have such a positive reaction if you are ever in such a situation again.

    Good luck for the future.

fair point, this is a great way to get other opinions, whether they you agree or not its useful, however (and this is just my opinion) i am surprised by the number of rather rude and aggressive replies at times, this isnt the case on all forums but hey ho just my opinion

as for bee number, full of bees is of course an exaggeration, the house is huge, somedays we have had 1 or 2, one day we had +20, in general its 10-15.

thanks to kpey and clareemily for their genuine replies
